I found your website and after reading what you've written about the lions I'm sure you would very much enjoy seeing the documentary... I strongly believe that the cubs and lions you have been following and filming are the very same. They are the same! You describe the giraffe kill to a T and the fight with the nomad males and then the injury of the tawny youngster who so very sadly dies - AND you describe how he calls before dying, how he stood up and then lay down again...Did you contribute to the documentary? Did you make the documentary? Did you consult on it? If not, you must have been side by side with the documentary crew or at least very close by because you saw and describe what they filmed!!

The story of this amazing pride of lions is so much more than just a documentary about lions, it is a heart warming and thrilling story of two amazing lionesses (sisters) and their cubs. It's truly a joy to watch these cubs grow up - their quizzical and playful 'cub-hood', the fun they have when learning through playing and then the harsh reality of learning through the strongest instinct of all - survival. They grow up to be strong and proud lions and throughout, their mothers are incredibly brave, patient, exceptionally loving and protective in exactly the right doses.

The scenery is beautiful and at many times more than breath taking. The sunsets are so magnificent I just wanted to be there!!

PS. The cubs watch a leopard in a tree and through this visual experience they teach themselves how to climb trees....

Later on, when the cubs are a little older, there is an amazing scene.... one of the young lions is sitting high up in a tree devouring a leopard's kill as the leopard watches from a distance.

Gracefully, a giraffe passes by the tree and they see each other.... the expression of the giraffe and that of the lion is one of surprise! A lion in a tree?! A giraffe face to face?!

.....oh dear, I can't really describe it you just have to see it if you didn't make it!!

The link:

Terra Mater

Video:
Die weißen Löwen von Timbavati Mittwoch 01.02.12 | 20:15 Uhr Dokumentation | Südafrika | 2011
http://www.servustv.com/cs/Satellite/Article/Terra-Mater-011259411094625Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
