Daily Synopsis
Well, there was a change of plan that meant that I didn’t come
back onto drive on Monday, so that might explain why the guys have been seeing
such good game!
The best news was the return of our mega-pack of 30 wild
dogs! Peter found them one morning
fighting with hyenas over a bushbuck kill that the pack had made! They hung around for a few days before going
back south.
The leopards in the north were not bad, but the best viewing
was that of all of the elephants that were abundant across the northern
properties the last few days. Buffalo
and rhino viewing was okay, but once more, it was the lions that gave the guys
a bit of a headache, but they managed to see some in the south at least. It was during one of the sightings of the
Ximpoko male with the Machaton lioness and young male that while watching the
lions feeding, Herold and his guests sat in suspense as Nthombi’s boy walked up
to the giraffe kill to try and eat some himself before realising the lions were
still there!
