Daily Synopsis

Herold has been driving about on his own the last couple of days, and sounds to have had some good quality sightings – clearly a case of quality over quantity!

He had made the long trip south one evening to see the Machaton Pride, stopping off to see Nthombi and her male cub that were now feeding on their fourth kill this week in the same dense block of land west of the Nhlaralumi!  Giyani and the Java guests actually got to witness the kill!

A breeding herd of buffalos was found just north of camp yesterday morning, and there were a couple of wonderful elephant herds over the last few days, but no doubt the highlight is the rapid habituation process that our crash of 5 rhinos is going through – no more running away, and now they approach the vehicles within 20-25m quite happily!  What a difference a month makes in the bush!

On the 2nd June 2010, i found not one, but two different packs of wild dogs!
