It’s amazing how sometimes picking the right road can lead to you finding all of the animals! The morning started off with audio for lions close to camp, and it didn’t take long for Johannes and Marka to find them; four of the Jacaranda Pride (3 lionesses and one of the males), but sadly they were without their cubs. On his way back to camp later in the morning, Johannes found them again resting in some mopane just east of camp.

On the same road, Xinatsi Dam North, Kuhanya was found finishing off her warthog kill in the morning, and there were also some elephant bull on that road between camp and Xinatsi Dam! A bit further away, a small breeding herd of buffalo were found drinking at Sohebele Dam.

In the afternoon, the lions were still in the same spot, but Kuhanya had moved off. Marka had a good day in the east, seeing the reasonably relaxed, but impressively massive Ngandaganda male white rhino. He also saw an equally impressive sized breeding herd of buffalo drinking at Scholtz Big Dam; he told me there were at least 500 buffalo, and possibly even as many as 700 in the herd! Johannes in the mean time had a smaller herd at Argyle Dam.

Sadly, there were no leopards joining the guests for dinner! It was still another enjoyable day at Motswari.
