Good Evening. I am doing some research. Is it possible to provide me with some history of The old game reserve known as Sharalumi. My Grandfather's brother Philip Marais cut an afrikaans Long Playing record in the 60's or 70's at that game reserve in the 60's or 70's
Will appreciate your help Kind Regards Thomas (thomas.duplooy999@gmail.com)
Hi Thomas we used to go there in 1975 , 1978 . This was the best times ever. We took a lot of photos. At the waterhole and the camp where we stayed. Rondawels. Not fenced off. Wild animals wondering between the units day and night. There was a swimming pool also in the camp. We miss the old days .
Hi! I was working in Pretoria in the 1970's/80's and loved the E Transvaal. We stayed at Shlaralumi several times. Notice I spell with an 'L' third letter. This is correct so perhaps not the same place you are enquiring of? I couldn't tell you much anyway but had happy times there. Sudwala Caves and the Blyde River Canyon are close by the Shlaralumi I know. Steve Johnson (Manchester UK)
