31st March – Johannes’s Day...

Afternoon Drive

12 x lions (Machaton Pride – 3 x lionesses and 9 x cubs) – Tanda Tula, Machaton Plains
1 x leopard (Argyle Male with impala kill) – Argyle, Crossing Below Vyeboom Dam
1 x breeding herd of buffalo – Vielmetter, Double Highway/Machaton River
1 x elephant bull – Motswari, Camp

Daily Synopsis
Johannes had a fair day considering he was the only guide out from Motswari – Argyle male was still at his kill, although he did drop it into the rocks below the tree where he had been feeding.
The highlight of the day was no doubt seeing the Machaton Pride of lions again as they rested off their fat bellies near Machaton Dam.

  1. Mr Argyle male actually looked exhausted, his face says it all - pained look.

    The cubs are so gorgeous and so not enjoying having to take a nap... typical kids.
